i'm originally from jersey, just moved down to florida. so i'm looking for a way to still get my mets games, PLUS all the other programming on SNY (not JUST the games so MLB.TV won't do). i currently have cable, and i was looking around to see if there were any options for me. i see DISH has SNY if i get a certain package. since i'm not in the tri-state area, will i get the games? or will they be blacked out.

They will be blacked out...

If you want the mets, get a Roku or PS3 or Playon and subscribe to the MLB.TV package which comes over the internet or subscribe to DirecTV and their extra innings package.

i already have a PS3 and MLB.TV. it's what i'm currently using. but like i said i want SNY programming too, not JUST the games. i just don't see the point in paying DISH extra for SNY when it'll black out the main thing on the channel...

After you have your system installed in Florida, call Dish Network or do an online chat. Tell them you have moved to New Jersey. You can keep your billing address in Florida, or sign up for online bill pay. Tell them you already have the dish set up at the New Jersey address, so there is no need for them to send an installer to your house.

Give them a service address in the New York demographic, and they will change your locals to New York.

If you have an over the air antenna, you will be to get your local channels in HD if available.

The down side is that while you can get New York networks in SD, you will not be able to get them in HD because they are spot beamed. But you will get SNY in HD (assuming you are set up for HD).

The other down side is if you ever need service, you will have to move back to Florida for a few days.

I live in Florida and I have watched every Mets game on SNY. I watch every Jets game also.

If you get the MultiSports Pak, I think you will get all the SNY programming, but will have the games blacked out. It is also good for the NFL Red Zone Channel in the fall (which is better than Sunday Ticket IMHO.....)

Problem with this is that he will miss out on HIS hd locals and won't be able to get the NYC ones

Thats actually something I was thinking about, trying to find out if it would work, but I didn't wanna mention it here because I didn't know if there was a rule mentioning something like that on this site. I had no idea that I wouldn't be able to get them in HD though. I'll have to talk to my uncle cause we both wanted to get it done. We'll have to look into an OTA antenna. Thanks for the info.

Glad I could help. If you look back, there are plenty of threads about "moving" (with quotes, to distinguish from really moving). Like I said, I have not missed a Mets game in years, either on SNY or WPIX. I have not missed a Jets game in years. What part of Florida do you live?
