They only semi funny part to me was during the news when Nick Cage ragged on Jake G. about why he was not in his movie... After all it included 2 things of a classic Nick Cage movie: time travel and actors being paid.

So you don't watch the show because you don't like the musical guest?? That's what DVRs are for....
I rarely watch the musical part of the show ,since most of the guests are not what I like,but I did like the Antebellum musical guest this last Saturday. I actually watched and listened to them.
I thought Melissa McCarthy did a pretty good job. Her physical comedy skills really impressed me. The other thing I noticed was her almost 100% lack of reliance of the cue cards.
That was because she was making it up as she went, off the top of her head. She was the funniest thing I've seen on SNL in a LOOOONNNNGGGG Time!
