Smart Card-Distant Network Compatibility

Tonight I finally received my 4 new smart cards for my 4 311 receivers. I installed the 4 new smart cards without any problems, but was surprised when the 4 receivers all came up with my 8 Distant Network channels from All American on channels 241-248 working perfectly. Is this the way it works on all Dish receivers receiving DNS channels? I was expecting to have to call All American with the new smart card numbers for each receiver before I would receive the DNS channels, but that wasn't the case for my 311 receivers. How has it worked for other Dish receivers?

I'm sure that AAD, like Sky Angel before them, depends on dish's authorization system.

No they have been around since the C-band days offering DNS.

When they showed up months ago I too expected the 241-248 signals would have to be hit by AAD...not the case...the channels were they immediately!
