October 23, 2008 - A cable-tv operator in Wagram, NC (population 780) was sentenced to 14 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegally rebroadcasting Dish Network programming, the Douglas County-based satellite TV company said Tuesday.
Glenn White, who ran Wagram Cable in Wagram, N.C., acknowledged intercepting at least 17 Dish Network channels and rebroadcasting them to his 242 customers between May 2005 and July 2006, according to a court stipulation. The programming services that White pirated were worth at least $37,234.
