People shouldn't ensconce their equipment in home entertainment ovens with ambient temperatures in the eighties and nineties, but they do it anyway. Go figure.People shouldn't have to add fans to a piece of equipment.
Has Engineering acknowledged this issue ?I think I've tried just about everything with Arcade. I'm hoping the next s/w release does the trick.

How does "pressing the MENU button twice (brings up the system info screen) then pressing cancel until I'm back to TV, fixes the slow guide issue" solve those bottlenecks ?My theory is that it's an issue with certain tasks taking up too many resources at times thus clogging certain bottlenecks in the receiver. e.g. CPU, RAM, Hard Drive.

I have NEVER had a slow guide on my 722K. However, I have only ever used a Harmony remote with it.
My 722k's don't slow down too often anymore since L668. Wish I could figure out what triggers the slowdowns... How many timers/scheduled events do you have?

Did Engineering report that the slow guide issue was addressed in that s/w update ?Last report from him was a couple weeks after the s/w upgrade, so I'm assuming all is well. If not, please let me know.
