This morning Sling TV announced that it is now available via Chromecast!

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Starting today,Sling TV’s live and on-demand Internet TV app for Android and iOS devices supports Google’s Chromecast. As part of the launch, new customers who prepay for three months of Sling TV’s “Best of Live TV” are eligible to receive a free Chromecast device.* Alternatively, Chromecast owners new to Sling TV can take advantage of a limited-time two-month free trial of Sling TV’s “Best of Live TV” package, available later today from the Chromecast website.

Sling TV’s “Best of Live TV” includes more than 20 channels for $20 per month. The core package delivers ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, A&E, TNT, HISTORY, H2, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, IFC, El Rey, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, CNN, Bloomberg TV, Lifetime and Galavisión. This package additionally features access to WatchESPN, including ESPN3 and an extensive library of VOD entertainment. Customers can choose to customize their entertainment experience with the addition of HBO® for $15 per month. Additional a la carte-like add-ons include “Sports Extra,” “Hollywood Extra,” “Kids Extra,” “Lifestyle Extra,” “World News Extra” and Spanish language add-ons, “Deportes Extras” and “Películas & Novelas Extra,” each for $5 per month. If they would just offer a two stream option without a separate subscription it would go a LONG way to making me reconsider this service as a primary viewing method.

At this point, that would likely cost Sling more money (paid to the content owners/providers). At some point it may be worth it to them to pay it, but not anytime too soon. Otherwise, we can kiss the reasonable $20 price point goodbye. Sure, there are more features with coming competing services from Sony and Apple for like SlingTV live channel streaming, but they have indicated a $50 per month range when launched, although with features SlingTV lacks.

Is it really worth it to the cheap "cord cutters" and "cord nevers" to pay $50 per month at the start, to only see that cost increasing with time, just to have DVR features and more VOD availability when they are already paying for Netflix? $50 per month is awfully close to what current cable and sat subscribers pay now. $50 price point makes no sense at this time. SlingTV's strength and great appeal is its PRICE, and people should expect that it comes with compromise.

I bought a Chromecast and have had video stability problems. When I called I was told roku has the best picture stability. Why and is this even true? The modem is only 10-15 feet away and I have plenty of speed.

Yeah, but when you add all of the extras that Sling TV has, like HBO & Cinemax among other add ons, Sling TV also creeps up to above $50.00. I personally know this for a fact, as i have a lot of those non-Spanish add-ons(except for Cinemax at this time).
Edit: I am currently upset at this time that Sling Tv doesn't allow for replay of TWD episodes as there is the possibility that I might end up with only Sling TV as an option for those non-OTA stations.
