Does anyone know how to get the remote control in the Hopper w/Sling working? Also can't find the Adult channels. Also how do you get the Sling to sync with someone else at a remote location? With my real Slingbox I could sync a recorded program at home with my wife on her laptop at a remote location and enjoy the recording together.

No Sling sharing at all, like Slingbox. Not sure about the adult channels. I did notice that OTA channels don't seem to show up either. What remote control are you talking about? I use dish.sling.com mostly if I'm not using the iOS app so not sure of the interface for dishonline.com.

dishonline.com takes you to dishanywhere.com. The remote control that pops up on on screen when you log in to sling. It looks like the real remote control and all the buttons work on it. The real sling box has it and you can reach your OTA channels, adult channels, and your external hard drive and you can sync your TV at home with someone that is remote. Got four Hoppers with Sling and now I have to put my old Slingbox back on the Hopper. Already got OTA module and RF modulator hanging on the Hopper. It is starting to look like a monster. All these things should be built in or the modules should be able to slide in like the 722ks.

The new Hopper has the Sling and wi-fi adapter built-in. So, it's a bit neater.

But, why do you need to attach your slingbox to your Hopper? It's nice to have full remote control, having access to the unit's guides, menus, and on-screen DVR pages. But, the sling adapter thru Dish Anywhere pretty much controls anything you need to control. (Although, missing channels is a biggie, I admit.)

As for you and your wife being able to log into a slingbox simultaneously from two different locations, you must have a magic slingbox, as it is not possible with any of the slingboxes I've had over the years. I think you may be mistaken. I'd like to see you try it again with your slingbox, and let us know if you are successful.

I think he means one user is at the TV watching in person while the other is watching the same feed remotely through sling (thereby watching together). Two locations but only one sling stream.

That's not possible with the Hopper? Can't the viewer at home just switch to the tuner that the remote viewer is slinging?

EDIT: Oh wait. Never mind. He is talking about playing back a recording. I guess that can't be done. Then again, I don't understand why it needs to be done. But, that's irrelevant, I suppose.

Got my old Slingbox PRO HD connected back up to one of my Hoppers. Everything is working great. Got a real on screen virtual 40.0 remote control and all buttons on it work great. I can access the OTA channels, access the EHD, access the Adult channels, and remote viewing from a laptop and the Hopper at home can sync together while watching a recorded program. GaryPen, the reason why we like to sync together is my wife and I like to watch some of the recordings together at the same time (sync). Also, the person at home (me) can operate the real remote control to skip the commercials, stop, pause, etc. Works much faster than using the virtual remote. My wife is spoiled, I even have to work the remote when she is home and we are watching TV. We have a his and her remote controls and I still have to be the chosen one to do the clicking. LOL

I don't understand the lacking of features the real Slingbox has. Dish TV owns the Slingbox company. Why not have these features with the built in sling in the Hopper w/Sling! I hope Dish TV slows down the next couple of years and fine tune what they have. They could update the Hopper w/Sling to full feature Sling capability and update a lot of small issues that the folks in this Forum are suggesting. There are even some neat things that the 722k has that got dropped in the Hopper w/Sling. Just a couple of examples are recordings are listed in the 722 (Hopper could have a choice to list), no resume button while watching a show that still is recording, no optional OTA two tuner slide in module, no built in RF modulation for the home distribution system, etc, etc. Dish, fine tune the great product you already have, make a Super Hopper w/Sling please!
