Does it s*ck as much as posts on social media make it out to be? One post said all audio is 2.0. True?

They seem to have the channels I want except for NBC Sports California. Fubo and Hulu don’t have AMC and IFC. Youtube doesn’t have A&E, Lifetime, etc.

Seems like I’ll just be saving on all the fees, which are a lot.

I didn’t have issues with it when I had it for a year. Don’t know about the audio as mine just went through the tv

(I got rid of it due to the apartment complex setting us up with directv stream. The cable company we had previously only allowed two recordings at a time until they stopped offering cable.)

How do you like DTV Stream?

I like it. You can do wireless or wired. We have 250/250MB internet here (fibre) and it works great. The big thing I had to get use to is setting up series to record. It’s rather easy but there is no spot to see the series you have set up. There is the list of your programs set to record daily. There is no limit of recordings at same time and they recently dropped the 20 episode max to keep. It’s unlimited programs now. Program is saved for 9 months unless you delete it.
Sports automatically extend. The one drawback is you can’t extend other non sports programs. It’s based on the guide. So as example my local 6:00 news starts at 5:59 but won’t start recording until 6:00. It automatically adds a minute to the end of the program.
You can also record programs that are streaming (like the program only channels. I know Dish carries them too but you can’t record them. These you can on Directv stream)

NBC RSNs are going to be on Peacock after the first of the year, the rest of the channels you mention are on Philo, which is only $28 a month.

Going over pricing, comparing DirecTV Stream to Philo-

Regular Price-$115 a month, $95 for the first 3 months

Philo-$28 a month
Peacock with NBC RSN Sports Channel -roughly $20-25 a month

So a total of about $53 at the most

A difference of $62 more with DirecTV Stream.

with that difference, you could get (with/or)
Paramount with Showtime-$12 a month 4K/Commercial free tier
Hulu with Disney+-$20 a month 4K/Commercial free tier
MAX (HBO)-$16 a month(or $23 for 4K) Commercial free tier

So with all the above plus $48-55 a month with Philo/Peacock+RSN, a total of $101-108 a month

Which is still $7-14 less then DirecTV Stream, which does not even include HBO/Showtime at that price, which my option does.

With my less expensive option, you would also receive Live Feeds of CBS, NBC, HBO, Showtime, Hallmark, etc.

The Live sports on CBS, NBC, Warner owned channels, plus all the streaming content, movies and shows.

So, with not getting DirecTV Stream and go with my option, you would also be receiving 10 times the new content, paying less.

Who needs a Paid Live TV Service for that?

First, CBS/NBC/ABC offer a free 24 hour news channel/app, CBS is my favorite, reminds me of Headline News in the older days.

Then, if you have MAX, a version of CNN is offered.
