Sling Adapter

I am looking to add a Sling Adapter to my original Hopper. I see that there are many for sale on Ebay, but am a little leery of buying a used one. Would Dish support or honor the remaining warranty on a used Adapter? Will Dish negotiate their $50 price on the adapter, or will they sell them cheaper? Thanks for any recommendations.
