I am installing the Slimline dish and after aligning the dish, my receivers say that it is not recognizing the 99 and 103 satelites.
It says:
99 Network 10: Fail
99 Network 11: OK
103 Network 14: Fail
103 Network 15: Fail

Am I aligning this dish wrong or is their a problem with my lnb?
Thanks for the tips,
Ken

BTW: This is my first post on this site, It is nice to meet you all!

Three questions:

What type of receiver are you using? There is a software issue on the H20 that causes it to fail the 99 sat and show lower than actual signal strengths.

What are your signal strengths on the other sats (101, 110, and 119)?

Did you fine tune the dish when installing it? The KA band has a much smaller footprint to peak it in on.

I am using H20 receivers.

I have 3 that are MFR 600 receiver and these are the ones saying that 99 and 103 have failed and that the average signal strenght is between 77-88

I have a MFR 100 receiver and the signal strengths are between 95 - 100.
On the MFR 100 Satelites: 101, 110, 119, 103(a) are OK.

Yes, I did fine tune the elevation and azimuth using the acutrac 22 meter.

I still don't feel everything is ok, what do you think?

I am paying for the HD package, I should get my local channels in HD correct. (They did say it was avaliable in my area.)

Thanks,
Ken

So when you complete the guided setup and it says that there was a problem detected, how many satellites did it find? If it is 4 of 5, then everything should be okay...provided that you are getting your HD locals without a problem.

I did the setup and got the following:
101, 119, 110, 99(Network11) all OK

99 (network10) 103 (Network 14 and 15) Fail

then got this message:

dish type is set to (5LNB Multi-sat), but the receiver detected (4) Satelites.

But Still no Locals.

First of all, WELCOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Now, what is your zip code? If the locals are available in hd, sometimes they take a while to come in. Give us an update.

That is pretty much a standard error message (at least in my area) for the H20's, related to the software glitch. Even though it fails the 99, it is still receiving programming because that is where our HD Locals are.

Sorry Guys,
Yesterday was really a long day for me.

On this account, there is no subscription to local channels.
So, that would mean no local HD channels either, correct?

On all of the receivers, the HD channels from the Package were being broadcasted, meaning I pointed the dish correctly?

I think I did everything correctly, right?

iwc5893,
I want to personnally thank you for the info about the software glitch.
I know if I had called DirecTv, they would of insisted they send out an installer. My neighbors on average had to call the installer back 3 times to get everything working.

1) Without a subscription to that channel, you can not get the HD version of the channel either.

2) Yep, it looks like you did.

3) No problem.:D

Hello all I have installed the slimline also but didn't have a meter just used the receiver. Which meter would work the best and what is the best way to align? The way I have it now I get all my channels but the signal on the HD20 on 101 is 55 to 64 then one is at 95. But the signal on my D11 receivers is 75 to 80 on 101. Thanks for any help

I would use the signal meter on the D11 (if you don't have one) and peak the 101 sat to a much higher level. Then complete the fine tuning of the dish using the receiver.

If you want to use a signal meter, I would strongly recommend a digital meter and not an old analog style. They cost more but are more reliable.
