SL3 SWM Dish/HD receiver setup question

I have just purchased an SL3-SWM-AU9 SlimLine dish with tripod for tailgating this fall. The dish I bought off of Amazon comes with the power inserter as well as an 8-way digital splitter. I was going to purchase some RG6 cables and I was wondering what the actual setup is for going from the dish to the HDTV. I will be using an H25-500 HD receiver and an HDMI cable from the receiver to my tv. I'm just not sure what outputs I need to use on the splitter (or if it is even needed). Thanks for the help!

If you are connecting only one tv, then the splitter isn't needed. Go from the dish to the power inserter to the H25 to the television.

is there a length of cable I need to stay under in case my dish is far from my tv due to trees etc?

I think the longest run from dish to tv is supposed to be 150 ft.
