It is a good way to receive the Christian broadcasts on those satellites with out needing a motor or a second dish.

If it's really for -you- and you don't mind the motor lag, and digging through the extra channels, then the FTA hardware is a good choice.
But if it's for your kids, anyone who likes to bitch a lot, or someone who lives at a different household, the lack of support you'd have to give to a GloryStar system might be the better choice.
Plus, the
setup and forget of the fixed dish has got to be a plus.
For a lot of the enthusiastic readers of this forum, FTA is a hobby.
To many people who are just appliance operators, watching TV is a hobby, but the tuning of the TV is -not-.
Hunting down new channels would be a burden, -not- a plus.
So, consider your audience, and how much work you want to put into supporting them.
