Skew bolt on 18" dish

The standard 18" dish that only sees the 101 sat? No skew on those right? Just Azimuth and elevation.
AZ = azimuth or compass line= SW or S or SE depending on your location the 101 sat is at 101 degrees west longitude etc.
EL = elevation=90 degrees if you are directly under the bird 22,300 miles up and about 40 degrees above the horizon at Washington D.C. and lower further north. Enter a zip code in the setup menu.
AND THAT IS IT..left or right, up or down
HOWEVER.....if you try to "see" or receive from more than one sat you have to tilt or skew the dish to "see" all the satellites that are parked on the same plane (think space junk on a shelf). Therefore, the 101 will be "seen" before the 110 and the 119 and the 95 and 103 will be near the 101 and like that.
Report back when you get paid for your first installation. Over the years this has been harder than the work.

18" round dish only looks at the 101 satellite.You can't get any local,Unless you live in New York or LA.There are only 2 setting you can do ,Azimuth,and Elevation. You don't get ANY other Satellites with this DISH!!! (unless you have a dual lnb,but we'll get into that if we have to) 18x20 3lnb oval Dish Picks up the 101 110 119 Satelites. This dish has a Tilt setting.You would get all channels except HD locals. Slimline 5 LNB Dish Gets every channel that Directv has or Will have.This is the only Dish that picks up 101 ,110,119, and 99,103 Satellites.This is the only dish Directv installs now for HD programming.

Dish has a whole pantheon of sats, dishes and switches. FTA (free to air) and all the commercial systems use variations on this. The DTV 18" round dish is not the end, it is a basic simple beginning..........good engineering, however. The equivalent system cost thousands and was much bigger years ago.
