I am looking to get Sirius Radio and want something that I can take in the car and bring in the house and listen to... I have seen the ones that dock in the home and the car so thats prolly what I want.

My question is are the antennas hard to set up for home and in the car? Does it have to be professionally installed or take some know how? Some of the antennas I have seen look like they are just like rabbit ear antennas and would be easy.

I set up my directv stuff myself so I am not worried it will be too hard really, I am just lazy and wanna know if there is an easy way.

I have had a jvc pnp for over a year, the home antenna for mine is about 3"squared and is mounted on a stand that tilts.. for me I put it in a North facing window and it works just fine. The car antenna I use on my dash... right now I am using xm (got too good of a deal on a roady last month) in my truck and doing same. Have Sirius in the house.

I have a Sporster PNP for my truck with which I use the cassette deck for the audio source. I haven't listened to terrestrial radio since with the exception of Howard Stern.

I bought a Clarion PNP for my wife's SUV, but wasn't pleased at all with the FM Modulation. I wound up returning the unit b/c the sound quality of the modulation is so bad.

Just something to consider.

The answer is no. Installation is very easy. If you have any questions come back and ask.

No, not at all. If you can comprehed exremely simple insructions, you can install these radios successfully. I know from experience and I never read instructions, lol.

I have an Audiovox PNP with the boombox and to use it at home I had to put up a Terk outdoor antenna as I didn't have a window with a good north exposure. The Terk SIR6 is just a little thing that mounts on a wall, TV antenna mast (mine) or whatever. www.terk.com is their site. Shop around the web for the best pricing. Mine works great!

I have the Xact unit. In the car, I velcro the antenna to the dash and in the house, I have a small 3" square unit that tilts. As long as it is close to a window, it works.
