Sinclair to buy Fox Regional Sports

Everyone is getting that channel, not just eastern PA. Likely a mixup, but the real question is, are you getting your own RSN? I'm getting both, and most of us that have a package with their local RSN are getting both too.

You're right!! I'm getting it here in New England too along with the Red Sox channel NESN. Anyone know why?

And I know it hasn't started yet, but according to Cubs, the new Cubs Network, Marquee Sports Network, will have a national feed.

Let me rephrase. Name one of the fox sports or root sports RSNs that have a national feed, which is what Don in CT was suggesting with Root RM.

My only question at this point is... didn't the Cubs learn from the Dodgers and Sportsnet LA? Just curious...
The Cubs are a bigger name and can probably get more support for the RSN. Look they all want to go the Yankees model and own their own network. Very few teams have the power to do it though. The Dodgers asked way to much for carriage and they don't have nearly the fan base of the Cubs.

that's interesting cuz up here in Idaho it's nothing but Dodger fanatics all over the town so I would assume they have a large fan base then again we're getting a lot of Californians up here...lol

The Dodger situation is nothing like the Cubs. The primary cable bandit in LA, now called Spectrum (what an industry cable is, changing it name every few years to get away from the bad reputation the previous name built up) massively overbid and having no leveage to get on other systems, the other cable bandits and the DBS providers happily watch it bleed money. Sinclair has no such issues, as it can bundle carrying the Cubs channel (and all of its RSNs) in with the retrans rights to its vast (and illegal) chain of OTA stations.

Of course, if baseball still had a real Commissioner, he would use the "best interests of Baseball" clause to void the Dodgers' deal, price a new deal at a reasonable price, and get the team on every system it its claimed area.
