Signed up for DirecTV on 8/30, install date 10/8... WTF!?!?!?!?

Well, I called DTV and cancelled with them... and then called one of the retailers I cotacted earlier and closed the deal... pretty much the same offer (minus the portable DVD player and the $50 Visa GC, but with an extra instant $10 off per month for the 1st year).

The great thing about it? my install was scheduled for tomorrow at 2PM .

Glad to see that you're getting takin' care of. Ma & Pa's will always jump at the opportunity to earn your business. Besides you're helping out your community and not giving all your money to the big ole' corporate giants.

Update:

Got my service installed on the date and time I was promised and so far, so good.

The installer did a pretty decent, clean job. And as per the programming and PQ, I can't complain. HD looks quite good (light years better than ATT's offering). The HR20 is a nice box, but I haven't messed up with it for long, so I'm not ready yet to give it a final score.
