signal strength

Hey. Just a quick question. I have had Cablevision for a while, over two years, and have been very happy with it. I just recently started getting some of my high def channels not available or initializing and it takes a while and never does. I called CV and they said my signal strength is not good. How does this happen? They are sending a tech over next week. Was there something I did?
