Hi all. I've had my AT-9 lnb since it was new with no apparent problems. That said I noticed that I have zero signal on any 119 or 110 transponders. Normal? As far as I can tell I receive all my stations. For the heck of it I redid the sat set-up and it produced errors...again, as far as I can see I receive all my programming. I'm not sure if there is an actual problem or if I'm just paranoid. :)

I should note that my H20/100 in the bedroom shows signals on 119, but not 110.

Thanks for the input and cheers!

Do your local sd channels come from the 119 satellite? There have been issues with the cable connecting the 110/119 lnb to the main lnb on those dishes, but since you have signal on one of your boxes, it probably isn't that. What are the signal levels on all satellites for both of the boxes?

Note that I'm in the Tampa, FL DMA for HD locals.
Also, we had some rain during these tests so I'd gain a few more points under clear conditions.

HR-22
I noticed that the Az is 0, the Ele -19 and the Tilt is 0. Also, the zip code is 00000. No clue if any of this impacts functionality.

Both tuners have similar #s.

I'm using a NON-SWM Slimline-5 and my 110 readings are 62 72 and 60.

Maybe they're turning the 110 power down about to take it off line???

Your local sd channels are on 101 so you don't need to worry about the 119 signals. Your hd locals are on 103s t16, t19, and t20. Your numbers there are very good. The numbers on 103ca and cb and 99c are good. They could be a little higher, but not enough to worry about though. I'd say you are good to go!

Um, I do believe that when using a 5 LNB setup the guide data comes from 119 when on HD channels and 101 when on SD channels. I used to have 119 blocked by a tree once and I would run out of guide data if I forgot and left the receiver on a HD channel over night.

That could be an issue, but since he didn't mention it, I figured it wasn't a problem. He is getting all of the signals from his H20 but only from t24 on the HR22. Maybe that's where the guide data comes from, IDK. BTW, I think leaving the receiver/dvr on a channel coming from 103 will still allow the guide to work even if 119 is blocked.

I forgot to mention that there isn't anything right now on 110, so you shouldn't show any signals there.

It seems odd that his numbers would be different from one recvr to another, drastically I mean, on the same set up.

I'm gonna guess that his HD locals come from the 99s Sat
the HR22 shows high signals on transponder 5 (97) while the HR20 shows a 52 for the same one.
The HR20 shows a high signal (90) on transponder 22...

Now he may not be using these , and they could be coming from cities he cant get, but it just seems odd that there is that much variance between the two.

Then again, if he's getting all his channels and has no guide issues, I'd leave it go.

There are three transponders on 110 with signal, 8, 10, and 12.

I get 67, 76, and 68 on them.

You are absolutely right! I get 96, 97, and 98 on them. With how different our numbers are, I'm guessing they are spot beams. I thought they were all turned off. At any rate, there is no programming there.

Jimbo, his locals come from 103 t16, t19, and t20. Those numbers are really good. There are others that are much different, but like you said, if he's getting all of his channels it may not matter. His numbers on the CONUS sats are a little low. Maybe a realignment will bring the disparate numbers more in line with each other.

It's just a strange situation to have 2 recvrs on the same set up drastically apart numbers wise.

It sure is. Could be a bad tuner in the HR22. He only posted signal strengths on one tuner for the HR22.

I do believe they are conus not spot beams. My dish just is not peaked, I only get 70's on Ka band, just slopped it up when I moved in and have not felt like getting out in the heat to peak it.

I don't get anything on the 110 .... or the 119 for that matter.

then again, I'm using a SL3 .

You should not even have 110 and 119 listed under satellite signal, if you do you need to repete setup and pick the correct dish. Otherwise more channels will show up than you can actually receive and if you try to go to one of them you'll get "Searching for Satellite Signal..."

The national channels on 119 are:

219 Now Network
366 Jewish Life TV
368 Hope Channel

and all of the Para Tudos offerings.

Want a free upgrade to a SL5? Just call DirecTV and tell them you are Jewish and would like to be able to receive Jewish Life TV, if they refuse or want to charge threaten a discrimination lawsuit.

Thanks for the input guys. Like I said, I have no known issues...just me being curious.
