Signal Loss on some HD Channels

I have a weird issue happening. All of my channels come in just fine. However if something is recording on Sat1 and I switch the channel on Sat2 to either ESPNHD or HBOHD it will say searching for signal on Sat2. What would cause only one of the lines to have problems getting a signal for these channels?

I've been going through this for 4 days 4 techs, 3 HR20's and the same thing.

Check your signal on 110. I get 98% tuner A and 40% or less Tuner B.

No one can solve the problem. They've reinstalled the system and all.

Well for the op it could be a switch issue so trace the tuner two line back and put it on a diferent port and see if it happens again. Another possibility is that the line is going bad and could have a micro fracture or theres water in the casing. Any splice point and its corresponding agent could be contaminated or the device could have been building up resistance.

For the second poster have you checked out your electrical service in your house? Normaly something like on an E dual tuner would be related to one of the above but if theres an issue with the electrical service in the house it can cause problems if the receiver isnt getting a clean power source or not enough power.

I just had the same thing happen on the unit in the 5th wheel the other day, isolated it to a bad connector/ cable.

Now everything is working perfectly

4th tech in 5 days just left. He brought a 3rd HR20 - 100 that did the exact same thing as #1 and #2.

Hooked an HR21 and it was fine. HR20 SUCK!

But why would this only happen on those 2 channels. None of the other HD channels have this problem or any other channel for that matter when I am recording something on tuner 1.

I have the same problem with HDNET, nothing else affected. Sometimes ESPN shows up on HDNET if I leave it on long enough and the lost signal disappears. I get a bad picture (pixelated) and i can see the ESPNHD sidebar slightly.

This sounds like a tuner issue.
If it was a D* issue, it would be happening on everyones units.
