Signal loss, mid-day only

I've got a customer who is experiencing some.(not total) signal loss on his new SWM 3 system but only in the middle of the day. I'm going to replace everything, including the power inserter, and hope it goes away. I get around one technical problem every six months on my DirecTV installs, so it's hard to see any patterns. Any ideas on what the problem could be!

Just a guess, but since it sounds heat related, it could be the lnb, or a loose connection that physically moves from the heat. I'd check the connections first, then change out the lnb if I didn't find anything.

when this is happening, take a water hose and blast the lnb. if the issue goes away you have a thermal problem with the lnb.

Had this problem last summer here with the heat wave we had. Had a tech come out. He checked all the connections outside and some were minimally lose. He tightened them and replaced the power inserter with a higher voltage power inserter since the cable run was over 100 ft from dish to receiver and we havent had any problems since no matter how hot it gets outside.

Back in the days of "C" band dishes we always had issues with the sun competing with the signal in the middle of the day during the summer. Reception would drop out for a couple of minutes until everything rotated enough to get the sun out of the signal stream. But, I guess that isn't a problem with the more powerful D* signal so that seems to only leave the issue of heat. (Moreover I see you have eight years installation experience so I am sure you would have seen a lot more issues like this if it was sun related, so I am assuming it something else unusual.)

When I had my c-band dish, I only had issues with sun fade at the equinoxes.
