Not having seen this channel or content, I would imagine it is different.
On a sitcom, the characters are already established, so you have a short story involving the same cast, in the same location.
With short films, you dont have that to start with. It would seem to be rushed if it is what I am thinking about.

May not be, but it seems to be totally different and not a valid comparison.

well I guess I'll have to watch it for a little bit before posting feelings. I guess it could have been worse.

They could have added HSN HD, QVC HD, TBN HD, EWTN HD or even worse (IMO)
