Long time lurker, first time poster.
Sitting in the lower 48 provinces. Trying to split two cables from the dish to power two receivers.
One receiver is an HD 630. The other is a 505.
I have an Eagle Aspen 4x6 splitter, and am incurring the following issues.
1) If I put even one of the cables from the dish into the 18v/22 IN taps, then run three cables out, the HD 630 works fine, but the 505 will not receive a signal. Putting both cables from the dish into the 17v/22 IN lines, running three cables out (2 to the HD630 and 1 to the 505) I also do not receive a signal on the 505.
2) Putting just one cable in to the 13v IN taps and running one cable out to the 505 works fine.
3) Putting two cables from the dish into the 18v/22 IN taps and just running two cables out to the HD 630 works fine as well.
My temporary "solution", just to get both receivers functioning, is to take one cable from the dish and run it directly into the 505, take the other single line, run it to the 18v/22 tap IN on the 4x8 switch, then run two lines out to the HD630.
I understand that this is not correct. The HD630 functions, but does not get low channels, high HD channels, or music channels (NFL Network and TSN HD, for example, work fine). Only one of the Sat taps in the receiver gets a signal.
Clearly I'm doing something wrong, or perhaps what I'm trying to do is not possible. I could use some guidance/confirmation on this if anyone can spare a few moments to provide some feedback.
(As an aside. You may be asking "why not run all four cables from the dish into the tap?" The answer is, because there is a second HD630 located upstairs that uses those two cables on a direct hookup.)
Thanks in advance.
