Good news: Out in Japan in March 2007, U.S. in the spring.

Bad news: "...there's a catch: the Sharp Blu-ray Disc recorder will only work with Sharp Aquos TVs!"

Yeah I don't want one that works with only one kind of TV.
 
Yep. Build in the tuner, record from component in, and do 50GB. But the price may be a wee bit higher.

I'll be buying a player, I'm sure, LONG before springing for a recorder. I almost never burn a disc anymore, the DVRs are so convenient. Until they crash.

You're not going to ever be able to record from analog component in, it's too data intensive. Hell, Digital component would be too for that matter. For 1080p component you have 1.65 Gb/second on the luma channel and 400 Mbits/second for each color difference channel since it's 4:2:0 on the discs.
