Shark - another interesting legal show

For the past several weeks I have been enjoying Justice on Fox; tonight Shark started on CBS. This is about a defense attorney turned prosecutor. I thought James Wood was excellent in the lead role.

I think having the two shows is fun; one focused on high-powered defense attorneys; the other on a top defense attorney using his powers to prosecute. I thought the first episode of Shark was strong. I don't know if they will both make it, but I think having the two shows (albeit on different networks) provides two interesting perspectives on courts.

Thoughts on shark?

I have it on DVR too and will check it out this weekend. IMO this fall season has been pale in comparison compared to last year. Perhaps I'll start another poll after I get an opportunity to see the entire lineup.

I saw Shark last night and it has promise. I enjoyed the episode but I wonder just how far this "House" clone will go.

Shark did ok in ratings:

"Another medical drama, NBC's "ER," won the 10 p.m. hour with a 10.0/16. The premiere of "Shark" on CBS averaged 9.8/16. ABC's "Six Degrees" lost a big chunk of its lead-in to finish at 8.6/14."

Certainly stronger than Justice did this week, although I am rooting for it to survive.... as I obviously like them both. I think Shark perhaps has a stronger chance.

CBS was third in the time period with the debut of its drama "Shark" (4.2), which was down 52 percent from the season premiere of "Without a Trace" last season.

Not as strong as last year's show in its place

I was able to watch the first episode (had it on DVR for the longest time). IMO, it is a very good show with a different twist in the L&O theme. I still won't give it above L&O. But it has lots of potential. I will defer more judgment until I see more of it.

P.S. Forgot to add .... Seven of Nine haven't lost her touched... She still looks decently "hot". Was that seven of nine (DA)?

I tried Shark last night and found it to be just OK. It may be worth checking out, but to be honest my dancecard, so to speak, is already full. I only have a limited time to watch TV and Shark doesn't make the final cut.

Having said that, this is one of those series that I look forward to watching during the summer rerun season.

At 10 p.m., CBS' "Shark" and NBC's "ER" tied for the lead at 9.5/16, with CBS once again slightly ahead in viewers. ABC's "Six Degrees" came in at 7.3/11.

Just saw last week's episode of Shark. I continue to like this show, but like many of us have said in the thread on Justice, as some point the dude has to lose. He manages to find what he needs just at the last moment.

Perry Mason lost only once. The viewers were mad as hell when he did! Perry always got the guilty party to confess on the stand EVERY week! He never lost again. Ham Burger never got fired either. He lost hundreds of cases to Perry. He must have been the most ineffectual District Attourney on the planet.

CBS Gets Chummy With Full 'Shark' Season

When is a show that loses 8 million viewers from its lead-in not a failure? When it's CBS' "Shark."

Shark is still ranked 18th overall for the season; compared with many of the shows we are discussing (and which I like ) shark is doing ok. It has aceraged a 9.5/16, with a 10 million audience.

I think the show gets better each week, and am glad it has been given a full run.
