I have a 10 foot dish and I now how to set the elevation, inclination, etc.

I am now getting ready to set a 1.2 dish using a motor SG2100. Am I supposed to assumed that it comes already ready (after I set the lattitud, longitud in the settings as it says in the manual) for true south?

I mean, should I just mount the dish and point to true south and the elevation comes already set for true south? Or should I mannually move it with the bottoms?

Once you set the latitude to your areas latitude, the dish still needs to be set to the correct elevation. I believe the declination is minus 30 on the SG2100. For me it was just easier to use an angle meter on the LNB arm and set it to the correct elevation for true south. I just set up my motor last week but you can do a forum search to view a number of different posts from members that have step by step instructions. I'll see if I can find a few and post here.

I found the post I used for setting up my motor. It was from TRON and he had some good pointers :up http://www.satelliteguys.us/showpost...6&postcount=16

If you mean is the motor already set at '0', it should be. If not, you may have to connect it up to the receiver and move it using the manual button on the opposite side of the LED.

The link above to the walkthrough didn't work, but this is the post Vacosta was referring to:

Thanks guys. YEah, that is what I meant, SET at 0. So it should be set to 0 and then if I point my dish to true south I should just move up/down, left/right a litte and try to get it at 83 degrees. I will try right now. Thanks.

The motor elevation is the same as your LATITUDE (There is a latitude scale on the genuine SG2100). If there is just an elevation marker, then its 90-latitude

83 has some data transponders at
12120 H
12140 V
12160 H
12180 V

symbol rate 30000 on all....it will help you fine tune the dish for optimum signal :)

Once I have my dish in the pole pointing to my true south, would it be correct if I use an inclinometer on the middle of the dish and make the elevation of the dish to 30 degrees. I am in tampa, fl, latitud 27.96 Longigutd 82.48.

Then from there I would try to get AMC9. ?????
