I have one major issue before I switch from Cable to Direct. I have an office upstairs that for some reason the cable guys couldn't get me a cable line to, so I have to run a cable splitter from a bedroom TV accross the hallway and to that TV. Can I still have a DIRECT DVR in the office even though the cable line is coming from a splitter in the bedroom???

Sure, as long as the cable is the RF output of the DVR.
If the cable is a sat line then the answer is no.
Each receiver needs a direct line from the dish or a multiswitch
