SES3 103W

It's on the air right now. Best I can get is 9.5 dB. So it's not watchable for me now.

But we had a wind storm with power outage all day so I need to go out tomorrow and touch up the dish. It got swung completely around and I was only able to move it back by lining it up visually with the trees so far.

If I blind scan I get the same stuff as SES 1 101W. I guess I need to tweak my motor more to the right slightly.

The only thing that scans in now on a blind scan of 103W is NTA. The transponder on 101W is so strong that you may pick it up if your dish is even a little too far to the east.
I don't pick up NTA, that's why I think my position is off slightly. Even when I select the NTA transponder still nothing.

Been out of the loop for a while and I recently realigned my dish and did a factory reset on my STB. Been trying to lock into what I believe is SES 3 this afternoon, but all I get are pay stations when blind scanning. I set the transponder for NTA (12080 H) and see a good quality signal, but my STB doesn't set it as a channel.

Also, did SES 1 lose all the radio stations? I see they're still listed on LyngSat, and I get all the TV stations on 12000 V, but only 3 radio stations which aren't on the list.

I don't think you are seeing 103W and 101W Ku. There are no pay channels (encrypted) on 103W Ku. And 12080 is a common data transponder on other satellites. 101W has two transponders with radio channels that scan in on 11704 and 11710 per Lyngsat. The large number of audio channels on 12000 will not scan in. They must be entered manually.

What receiver are you using?

Thanks for the reply.

I had my doubts on 103, and what you said about 12080 makes sense. I'll do some more tweaking tomorrow.

I'm definitely on 101 as I have all the normal TV feeds like newsnation, NHK and the Microspace promo. My STB is a GTMedia V7S2X (SG2100 motor) that I've had for years, and never had issues with the radio stations scanning in automatically. I'll try to enter them manually tomorrow and see what happens.
On a side note, one of the 3 radio stations I do receive is identified as Microspace...I'll have to check to see what transponder they're on. Thinking they might be AFR on 11710.

Maybe you are receiving 110W instead of 103W. 110W has a lot of encrypted Dish circular channels that are so strong you can receive even using a linear LNB.

On 101W, you are probably receiving the three American Family Radio channels (3) on 11710. But the so-called Mood Music channels on 12000 have no SIDs so they won't scan in. On the GT Media, you would have to use the receiver's editor on a PC to enter the channels then upload the database via a USB stick into the receiver. This is what I did on my GT Media. I uploaded my database here. The file I created may work on your GT Media but I'm not sure if my V7S5X database is compatible with your receiver.
