At about 8:50 pm this evening our Fios DVR box shut itself off, and I figured it was going to load an update or something, so I let it sit. It kicked itself on after about 2 min, and just displayed 4 dashes instead of the time or channel, and the screen just said "please wait a moment while fios starts up"
It sat there for about 5 min- so I powered off the box, powered it back on, and all I got was a message that said "service currently unavailable"
So I called support- the person I talked with said the call they had right before me was having the same problem- they "re-initialized" the box and after a few min it was up and running again, but now the picture and audio keeps cutting out, and coming back in pixelated. Every 5 seconds or so, the picture pixelates, audio cuts out, then comes back in a second later.
Tried to call customer support again- been on hold for 20 min, no answer- I guess lots of people must be having the same problem?
I'm sure it will work itself out, but just thought it might be a point of interest to post here
