Selling receivers on Ebay - Sim Card ?

I am going to sell two of my dish receivers on ebay. I noticed that neither receiver has a SIM card in them.

I am kind of puzzeled because I though they should have SIM cards, but maybe they are not needed on these two?

They would only have the security card in them if it was updated after they were manufactured. Dish receivers have a built in one, but if they update the security and come out with a new card, then you have to get one for your receiver.

Also be sure you own your receivers before selling on ebay. The upfront fee you pay for the receiver when starting Dish is a lease fee not a purchase. But, if you bought all your own equipment from a retailer then you would be the owner.

Many newer Dish receivers have a SIM card built-in on the motherboard. The external SIM slot is there so that when Dish changes to the next version of the SIM card you can install it easily.
