Need help, Have questions. using older Slimline (no-Power inserter). I have H25-100 AND HR24-500 that I would like to install.
I have a cabin that i initailly had the old round dish and standard reciever. Just upgraded all recievers to HD. I aquired a slimline dish that has 4 lines( so I think its not a SWM?) The SWM is the one with the single line and the power inserter correct?
Do I need a power inserter to get these new HD recievers to work?
Do I need a multi switch I have an old on that was with the slimline. can I use that?
If I just hook up 1 reciever in my cabon can i run just 1 line from dish to reciever ?

:welcome Welcome to Satellite Guys. First problem, the H25 only works with SWM. If you had the H24 HD receiver, you could hook up one of the 4 cables to the H24,but you would also need a B-Band Converter to receive HD.You would need to hook up 2 from the remaining 3 cables from your LNB to your HR24 & you would need 2 B-Band Converters,1 B-Band per cable. What you can do is purchase a SWM LNB with power inserter to replace your 4 cable LNB & then you'd have no problems with your H25 working at your cabin. What you can also do is also get a green label 4-way splitter along with the SWM LNB. That way,you can hook up your power inserter to the power out input on the 4 way splitter & put a terminator on the part of the power inserter that says "Signal to IRD." Then you can run 1 cable each to both your H25 & HR24 & leave the 4th input of the 4 way splitter terminated.

I have the HR24-500 will that work? That’s the DVR version. I also Have b-band converters from my old set up.. I also have a green label splitter. Can I work with this stuff without purchasing swm lnb and power inserter?

Yes you can hook the HR24 to your present set up(as long as your dish is a Slimline) with 2 cables & 2 B-Band Converters to you DVR. You don't need the splitter.
