Good Morning
Guessing this has been discussed but I cannot find the thread.
I have had Direct for decades but now need to upgrade. I will get the HR24 I think. I just need in one room and one TV but would like to know which dish I need to buy to go with it. I read articles but do not understand most of the abbreviations, getting old does that. I currently use an HR22 and have filters on the incoming coax, 2 lines.
Would anyone be able to tell me everything I need to get from dish to TV.
Thanks Again for your great information
Pam

Welcome to Satelliteguys Pam!
It's unlikely you can get an HR24 from Directv. It's an older model. You will most likely be offered an HS17 and a mini Genie. The HS17 doesn't connect to a tv, only the mini Genie does. The dish would be a Slimline. Call Directv and request an upgrade. Do you have the protection plan? An upgrade should be free with no contract obligations.

Upgrades always have a new 2 year contract.
we was charged a 199.00 fee for no contract for a 4k genie mini. they waived it because of the situation. id'e hate to see the no lease fee for the server :eeek. if pam is a new sub she might even be able to do a no contract. it's also a 2 year contract if you downgrade hardware figure that one out.
