Using one of these for external drive and so far working fine. This is not a powered drive. Is anyone else using this drive without incident?

You should use an external power source for the ehd. Letting the receiver power it will shorten the life of the receiver IMHO.

The receiver isn't designed to power external devices, which is why we ask that they all have their own power source. Where I understand that your EHD is working, it's not something that we recommend
