Well it's a typical low cost stamped dish, should be better than a Fortec, for the price it's not bad, well your free dish offer would have been pretty sweet but it's good he got one that a sponsor sells here, and he will pick up many channels on c/ku, will have problems with some feeds because of the size and quality build but I am sure he will have fun

I personally am not a lnbf fan but again, they seem to work ok and are priced extremely well, I use a cotoror II plus wideband feed on my dish and am happy.

No i would not use them either they really are made for 6 foot dishes if you put them on a 10 footer they suck never would

Is there anyone near me in CT. that wants free CBAND DISHES ???

Gary, told you I was interested in that deep dish 8 foot mesh unit you got.

This Dish that I have is a hobbiest dish, its not meant as I professional dish. Thats why its not as heavy duty as you would like.

My plan for the dish is to use it to scan the skies and help update the C Band portion of our satellite list here at SatelliteGuys (see SatelliteGuys.US - TheList) and to tune into special events feeds in HD and SD as they appear.

I am not planning on using it for broadcasting, nor do I plan to hook up a 4DTV unit to it.

But if there is some breaking news somewhere I want to be able to tune into the raw feeds and see whats going on for myself and not have some TV network just give me a 10 second sound byte. My goal once its working fully is to make the AZBOX controlable by a Slingbox, this way no matter where I am in the world I have full C and KU band access at my fingertips.

Now I still need to figure out what going on. I was getting C Band in the Fortec Mercury II receiver. I did a factory reset to the box to clear out the motor positions and now its not getting C Band. I changed the settings on the receiver for 5150 and check the transponder info, the freq, polarity, and SR is set fine, but no signal on the receiver and no quality.

I take the cable out from behind the mercury receiver and plug it in the Satbuddy and it shows me strong signal on Satmex5 (which its incorrectly identifing)

I don't think its the cable since I am getting signal on the satbuddy and was getting signal of the Fortec receiver until I did the factory reset.

I think today what I am going to do is take out the LNBF and replace it with another C band LNBF I have.

I also have a second line coming in which is the KU dish next to the C Band dish. I can hook the cband up to that cable which I know works.

Everything is so close yet so far away.

Time for me to go to bed.

I did a factory reset of the Fortec Box (I wanted to clear the lists of motor positions and channel charts) and now I am get 0% on both Quality and Signal on C Band

I hook it back up to the SuperBuddy and am told I am on SatMex 5 with a strong 80 signal quality.

I hooked up my other FTA dish which is KU and am able to see signal from that.

I also hooked up that dish to the AZ box and that is also seeing ku signal.

Only thing left is the LNB itself, but why was it picking up signal before the factory reset but not after. (And the SuperBuddy is still seeing the signal as well)

On both receivers not seeing any C Band now. But again hook it up to the Superbuddy and have an 80 signal on the same transponder.

I dont get it.

3720 on G17 which is CW is 3720 H polarity

you sure the LNB isnt off by 90 degrees???

Your in FL i should be able to find some one much closer also just run a add on craig's list wanted big ugly dish tell me the brand name email me a pic and i would be glad to tell what's what with the dish if i never heard about it, then its not a dish i ever worked on, which is a rare dish

The reason i never posted here before is satellite is a job to me not a hobby i'm burned out on satellite i got a head full of knowledge on BUDS but no way to make a living from them plus i'm going for hip replacemnet soon i'm 68 time is catching up i guess

I noticed when hoooking my LNB up to my cband dish that i had to set it 90 degrees other than what the manual said. I have one of the WSI's, and had the arrow pointing up.. For some reason it was doing what scotts is doing. Thus a twist 90 degrees fixed things. My arrow now points to the left at 9.

It sounds like you need to be pointed at the zero. I wish these LNB's would come the same. Scott, Im glad that you have your dish fixed and gary could come down there. I wished that I lived closer to help you, and maybe pickup a dish from gary!

I think Iceberg might have nailed it... (Just thinking about it... at work still so havent tried it yet)

But it makes sense why the SuperBuddy was IDing it as Satmex5 as that transponder was correct for Satmex 5 with the polarities REVERSED.

This would also be why I was able to tune into the satellite on the fortec but not the AZBOX. On the fortec it had SatMex5 and a bunch of transponders. On the AZBOX I punched in the transponder and SR stuff from by using TheList and double checking things on Lyngsat.

After I factory reset the Fortec box, I tried retuning it in on the Galaxy 17 satellite, NOT the SatMex 5 satellite. I am now sure if I would have tuned into the SatMex satellite again on the Fortec box I would have gotten the signal!

It could also explain why I was only getting half the transponders on G17 as one of the other members pointed out.

I would love a free quality C-band dish, not sure when I will be replacing my old 3.1m dish, but it is definitely a POS and cannot wait to replace it.

Scott, glad you found the problem, before Iceburg said the polarity problem, I was going to say the same thing since when I installed my new LNBF, I had the same problem, I installed it 90 degrees off and could not get quality, but had plenty of signal.

the 621 skew arrow needs to be set at 12:00 for "0"

my GeoSatPro C2 are like that....all are set at 9:00 for 0 skew

The feed is in a lot because the dish is a very flat dish but your right fooling with it CCW or CW could make a huge different
