Sci-Fi HD...when can we watch?

To calm myself down, I remind myself that I was with TW 4 months ago and had only 11 HD channels including the locals(only one in HD). Dish may not be the leader as of now but they sure are better than what I had in October! Now I have three local in HD thanks to vip722 tuner picking up local HD and digital with just rabbits ears!(nine total ,some are digital sd) Along with the about 40 HD channels on dish. The grass does look greener on Direct side of the fence as far as HD right now, but TW makes Dish look like a lush meadow. I am locked in for another 14 months, thats how long Dish has to right itself in my book. Sooner if the 13.33 a month fee is offset by a rebate or a great offer. I spent good money of an HDTV ,its time I start getting a better return on my investment. Dish has me for now, they are an upgrade from my local cable.

My guess is Scott needs some new sources. That or better learn how to interrogate the ones he has.:D

Yes, I saw and acknowledged your smiley, so this comment isn't really directed at you. But the comment does strike a chord as I've seen other posts more scathing than yours and not meant to be tongue in cheek. Scott reports rumors as just that--- rumors. I get tired of people slamming him for relaying them. It concerns me that he'll just clam up all together as a result. I don't know his actual track record, but I do know some rumors posted by him have come to fruition while others haven't. It's the nature of rumors. Period.

If Scott gets the Gold Medal, then Digi deserves the Silver.

I talked to Digi yesterday. We are so damn lucky to have someone like him here.

Digi. I think I saw where you are planning on going to the CES next year. My advice to you. If it is in Vegas again take money.

I have no idea if you are looking to relocate or not. If you are take a resume with you. Some tech company would be lucky to have you.

My remarks were not meant as a slam against Scott but at Dish's attempts to use him as a propaganda conduit.

So, let me see if I got this right.
Instead of new HD channels, instead we get.
1. The standard February price increases, and
2. The need to start worrying about our DVR's again (with the courts favoring Tivo yesterday).
Gee that all sounds like a ton of fun.

No need to worry about the DVR's the software was updated a few month ago to get around the software patient.

As far as rumors go I always post rumors as rumors, you will notice when I post something and not label it a rumor then you can bank on it. :)

Trust me when I say that even the folks that work at Dish have no clear idea of whats going on there at the moment, and to me thats a scarry thing.

I will say over 90% of the rumors that you see here that do come true... well you read them here first. :D

Almost two months since the original question was asked. I for one thought that these channels would have been lit quite awhile ago with all of the talk about there being plenty of space for at least a couple of more HD channels. Don't know the schedule for the new birds for E* but I guess one would have to assume that they will be lit when those are up and ready.

Where did you see April 4? The SciFi website still says March 2008.

I googled for "battlestar galactica premiere" and found a bunch of links to a SciFi press release stating that April 4th was the day. The articles were all only a few weeks ago.

But, the teasers they've been airing (the ones where someone's waving a flashlight above their heads... :) say March 2008 though.

Ah, you'd think they would have fixed their website at least.
