I bet the Dish guy's that read this forum are laughing their ass off at us! There going to launch more HD this Wednesday, alright!! Then Wednesday comes and no new Nationals, everyone is bummed! Then here we go to the next Wednesday, it's the same ol' song and dance! This has been going on for a month now! Quit toying with us Dish give us some frickin NEW HD!!!! C'mon! :hungry:
It's been going on for way more than just a month... :)

Dish has worn me down through all this. They have succeeded. They haven't added any national HD in forever (it seems), and my HD locals are not even in the plans yet. So, I'll just keep with the channels I've already got, and if others show up, I'll be happy.

But I certainly won't expect anything to get added. Ever.

Thanks Charlie for destroying all hope for me...

:)

I should have known to use words like "better". OK... let me re-state it. The SA8300HD provides much of the same capability (other than the ability to watch recorded programs on multiple TVs) as the 622. Each, I'm sure, has it's merits. For example, the SA8300HD allows for recording of 2 simaltaneous programs, while watching a 3rd program. So, I admit it-- I'm not interested in the tale of the tape type comparison. My point of view is from the basic usability stand point, and the 2 DVRs are certainly comparable. I officially re-tract the word "better"-- how's that?

8300hd sucks plain and simple. The whopping 20 hours of hd record time.

Last I heard you can record two and watch a prerecorded, not a live. Also, the 622/722 allows for recording or THREE programs at once with OTA. Then lets not forget the fact that cable boxes never adopted OTA recording which is a crock anyways.

So, would I trade my triple tuner 722 in (that has 55 hours of storage) for a moto or sa box? Hell no.

I hate to do this but...

M I C .... see you real "soon"

K E Y .... why? Because Charlie is not a sci-fi fan

M O U S E...

;) :D
funny. Charlie has kept the DISH guys starving for quite awhile if he has it he should turn it on if the contracts allow him to do so.

I think the guy who compared cable DVR's to DISH DVR's is a DISH implant:) to offer a distraction, now every DISH sub will start pounding on him why DISH DVR's are better than cable HDDVR's, and totally forget about the fact they have no new HD to watch.

Dish plant? No. But, you're right. My main point was the pathetic state of affairs with Dish HD. All the DVR nerds came out of the woodwork. Like I said ... I should know better than to use the word "better". For me and most subs (you watch ... now they will quote percentages on DVR usage)-- all we really care about is if the damn thing records shows.

First off, pretty lame to call people "nerds" when you made a statement that caused you to get your card pulled when it was way off. So you opened that door.

Second, its nice that a dvr records shows yes, but that is what its made for. So you then have to compare extras like number of tuners, recording space, etc...

Get over it ya big baby.

Of course I said so in a sarcastic way, just did not try to make it very obvious. I hope you now understand what you did indeed allowed an opening for attack, and in doing so you served to allow many E* HD subs to at least temporarily forget about the lack of HD. And Charlie did not even have to pay you to do the job for him:)

Just a quick question: What's on USA HD that everyone's so excited about? I'm not trying to put down those who like the channel, but I've never really watched it and see a lot of comments from people who are eager to get it. I know people want SciFi for BSG, but am curious what compelling programming is on USA HD.

Thanks.

I would love to watch Burn Notice in HD this summer. Great program.

LOL! That's very true. If it isn't sports related, Charlie doesn't care.

My how times have changed. It wasn't all that long ago that Charlie was accused of not caring about sports at all, since he didn't push hard enough to get NFL Sunday Ticket from under DirecTV. I think Charlie is more about how to get as many channels as possible for as little money as possible. SciFi HD happens to be the latest sore spot with the membership here, but there have been others.

If Charlie would just add that one channel, most of the complaining would stop. Apparently Charlie doesn't mind us complaining, as long as we keep paying our bills.

Nah, we would then move on from sci-fi (which might get Dish kudos for about 5 hours) posts to several "When are we getting Spike?" or "Why can't we get the fox channels?" threads. We are, after all, human... give us a channel, we want 20 more.:hungry:

I would actually be satisfied for quite some time with Sci-Fi HD.

Since then, Time Warner has tripled their national HD, have much more VOD, better PQ, and a better DVR (SA8300HD).

OMG OMG OMG OMG! HAHAHAHAHAHA! OH! You're killing me! STOP! Really, stop!

That piece of crap is the reason I left TWC. They broke Passport which was otherwise only slightly below average, and then decided to replace it with the stillborn Navigator. The VIP722 is by far the best DVR I have ever used, including the HR20-700, HR10-250, RCA DVR40, SA8300HD, and SA8300HDC. The SA boxes aren't even in the same galactic supercluster with the VIP722.

On top of that major flaw, TWC still does not have as much as HD as Dish in my market, and that is with Dish sitting on their hands since October. And that is with them bit-starving the hell out of their HD content, as bad or worse than Dish ever has. It is really quite pitiful.

We watch a lot of MONK and Psych both are HD.
