Schedule future programs

We just got our Hopper 3 and can't figure out how to schedule future shows like the older remotes could do. Example: program automatically remote to go to "local news" every day at 5 pm. Or repeat a program weekly, etc. This is for changing channels only, not recording. Can anyone enlighten me, please?

There are several ways to do this.
Here is one way.
1) Press DVR on your remote
2) Select the Timer Tab on the top
3) Press Options on your remote
4) Select Create a Timer
5) Fill in the channel number
6) For Frequency you can select Weekly, Weekdays, or Daily
7) Fill in the Time
8) For Type you can select DVR or Autotune

Autotune will allow your Hopper3 to tune to the selected channel

Here is another method
1) Use the Guide to select a future occurrence of the program you want
2) Press DVR on your remote
3) Select the Timer tab on the top
4) Select the Timer you just created
5) Select Edit Timer
6) Under Record you can select Only New, New and Reruns, Daily, Weekly, or Monday-Friday
7) under Type you can select DVR or Autotune
