Scariest sports injuries you recall

This isn't the Scariest, but it was the most upsetting at the time.
YouTube - 1999-00 Round 3/Game 7: Scott Stevens Hits Eric Lindros

Lindross comes back off of IR to bring new life to the Flyers in the playoffs and never comes back.

I was sitting 3 rows from the top of the First Union center (now Wachovia) when this happened. The whole place went dead silent. That was the day the E train was derailed. The Flyers lost the game and the Devils went on to win the cup.

1) Clint Malarchuk getting slashed across the neck

2) Petr Svoboda of the Flyers getting blindsided by Marc Bereau of the Montreal Canadiens back in 1995 @ The Spectrum. We were in the 3rd deck & all you saw was the blood squirting & flowing from his head.He was lucky to be alive.

The first two I would agree and the guy getting his throat slit this year in the NHL would be my third. The are the ones I have trouble forgettin.

Seeing that happen at the time ended any thoughts of me playing hockey ever again!

That kind of thing is such a fluke. I worry more about getting hit in the throat with the puck. I was hit in the throat by a stick from a follow through and it dropped me. I couldn't breath for a few seconds.
