scam from Dish?!?!?!

I just received a telemarketing call from someone out of a call center saying that they would offer me both the Starz and HBO packages free for 6 months if I agree to another 2 year commitment with Dish. I know that there was a free Starz and HBO offer for new subscribers, but I had never heard of a Starz and HBO offer for existing subscribers. If I knew this was a legit offer, I would do it, but it seemed like a scam to me. Has anyone gotten a call like this before?

sounds legit..a couple free channels to lock you in for another 2 years.. How is this different than a $300 mobile phone for free when you agree to extend your cell phone contract for 2 years?

Probably legit, they had a similar offer on their customer service website before.

I went to dishnetwork.com and under existing customer promotions it says that you can get both free for 3 months instead of 6 months. With it only being 3 months, I dont know if its enough of an incentive for me

They've called me twice in the past week, but I don't remember if they offered 3 or 6 months free. I wasn't interested so I didn't pay a lot of attention. I've been a sub since August 1998 and this is the first time E* has ever contacted me by phone with any offer. I wonder if their numbers are so bad, they're trying to lock in subs for as long as possible.
