SC ch 293

I see that SC is testing ch 293 this afternoon. It is sharing a transponder with 280.

According to rumors on other sites, Shaw and TSN employees have been reporting a deal is signed and that TSN HD will launch by midnite m.s.t. Nov 9

So it looks like 293 is either CTV HD or else SC will hold it until Discovery HD Theatre launches

Or 293 is god-forbid SRC HD- Oh la laa - the CBC in French will ZERO HD content.

What sat & transponder # are the New HDs using?

They are on Anik F2, at transponder frequencies 11985, and 12155.

292 is on 12155, and 280 and 293 is on 11985

So this would be transponders T10, and T31 - previously unused by *C on Anik F2. So that would leave room for 1 more HD channel for a total of 4 that was promised in their programming brochure.

Well, yes, technically.. although the TP numbers arent really used in Ku anymore.

They were analog and dvb feed channels, but now have DC2 streams live on them.

293 is apparently for CTV HD East (CFTO-DT Toronto).

I hope they save the last spot for Discovery HD.

Looks like SC managed to escape putting on the SRC pseudo HD channel.

280 (TSN-HD) and 293 (CTV-East HD) are now up with program data in the guide (on my 500). Guide data is now available for 292 as well.

That must have just happened, as it wasnt showing that this morning.

Does CTV or TSN have video yet? They did not as of 1pm today EST.

But, I did get to watch CBC news in "HD" today

Yep, it just happened within the past few hours. Video and guide data for all 3 new HD channels.
