One of the recommendations from KUSAT is to not use slave receivers with an SC account, because slave receivers require every receiver to be connected to the phone.

Does anyone here from the States use a slave receiver in spite of this apparent restriction? If you don't connect a slave to the phone, will that unit lose its authorization?

you can have 2 recievers on an account with no issues. SC isnt as "hard nosed" as ExpressVu is about multiple boxes. Dont plug them into the phone line :)

Units that are not/have never been authorized for PPV do not need a phone connection. SC dealers get a small stipend for activating the PPV, so southern subs should inform their Cdn dealers to NOT activate PPV on brand new receivers.

As Iceberg mentioned, SC doesn't usually bother auditing 2 receiver accounts. They focus on PPV units not calling home and then 3+ receiver accounts.
