SatLink 6908 and .ssu files for American Sats

I bought a SatLink 6908 to assist in finding my DirecTV Sat 101* W while camping. Does anyone have a file with the necessary North American Satellite information I can download into my SatLink? I believe it is a .ssu file? Of course the SatLink already has many Eastern Hemisphere Sats that are a waste and I will delete.

Also, does anyone know where a person can get a better instruction manual than the awful one that comes with the SatLink?

Satlink's website has the pdf manual and a RAR copy of the files on the CD.
In the RAR there is a S-SATlist-America.ssu and a CTK DBTool which you might be able to use to edit the .ssu

Thank you for the great information QWERT1515. I was able to download the 22 American Satelittes into my SatLink 6908. Unfortunately my DirecTV Sat 101 West was not one of them. My next stupid question is where can I find my Satellitte Information or Specifications to enter in the meter?

That model locks on to MPEG2 format signals. I suspect that it would not identify DirecTV satellites, but the signal meter might show when the dish is aimed at a satellite.

Download and install 7-zip to extract the necessary files from the compressed .rar file. Hope that helps.
