Satinfo file

I guess I should know this from a year of playing with fta rec, but what exactly is a Satinfo file? They have one posted on viewsatusa's site, says for all receiver models, but doesnt say what it does. If it isnt necessary I don't think I want to add it. (I download in linux to look -file size only comes out to 7bytes so it cant be much)

thanks george, I may load and see then. They've changed names so many times now Im trying to just memorize the locations in space! 97degrees much easier on the brain cells lol
