They are getting ready for the migration to the new 118.7 satellite.

If you have not seen THIS DOCUMENT, then you should as a lot is going to be changing on 118.7 including a bunch of new frequencies and transponders.

Correct, the Anik bird uses 32 TP's instead of 24. Much like the difference between Echostar 9 and AMC-15.

Well maybe next week we will see the OKC Locals In HD go live. The Waiting Game Got To Love It. :)

Remember next week is also Team Summit, and they usually wait to launch new services so they can do it at or around Team Summit for maximum impact for their retailers. :)

Yeah forgot about Team Summit! What days of the week are the show on Scott??

Show opens next Thursday. :) We will be there!

Remember if you're in Texas come to our SatelliteGuys Get Together at the Gaylord Hotel in Dallas Texas, and you will get to meet some folks from Dish and in addition you will be taken to see all the new Dish equipment and software which is coming down the line. :)

See the operations center forum for more details! We are limited to only 30 people for this special event so sign up now! :)

I found it.

So, the Anik F3 and AMC16 satellites are FSS, but they are received using circular LNBs, is that correct ?
How does Dish accomplish this ? Do regular Dish LNBs (circular) work even though the signal is not DBS strength ? Do recent Dish receivers have extra signal amplification circuitry to deal with this, or do the "PLUS" dishes have an extra box to accomplish that ?
Just curious...

correct..The C Band side of AnikF3 will be linear though

no. They use a linear LNB that has circular polarity. DBS is 12.2-12.75 but these frequencies are between 11.7-12.2
C-Band does this too on the Atlantic satellites. There is a dialetic plate that goes in a C-Band LNBF to get circular. I know trhere is a way to rig up a circular linear LNB but the thread escapes me. Its in the Dish area

You can also check ebay. I have seen a circular LNB that goes from 11.70Ghz - 12.75Ghz. (which will get 118.7 circular signals as well as DBS signals)
