SatelliteGuys.US DishNetwork Uplink Activity Discussion - Week Ending 09/15/2007

Yeah I would like to see more ""National HD Channels"' added instead of all of these PPVHD. PPV is a waste when you movies come out every Tuesday of the month and you can rent them and see newer titles than what PPV has. I would like to see like USA Network HD, Sci-Fi Channel HD,TBSHD, channels like that. :)

I'd like to see those channels too, but they don't exist in HD yet.

I'm pretty sure that Dish Network will add all three of those channels - as soon as they actually exist !

As of today, there are no HD versions of popular SD channels, that are not already available on Dish Network.

Don't for get your E* service and a DVR . And your 622 or 722 can't hold 160 HD movies,So add another $40 bucks for your expanded capacity.

To be fair, the E* service and DVR are the same cost with Blu-Ray as well. The only incremental cost is the $4.99 per movie vs $800 Blu Ray Player cost plus $25 per movie.

Since TBS originated in Atlanta maybe instead of chanting for TBS HD by October 1, we can start doing the always fun and never annoying Florida State/Braves Chop until TBS HD comes to the E* family?:)

This argument will only blossom. As more and more people get BR or HDDVD and see the superior picture quality to DBS they will force E* and D* to up the ante to improve MPEG4 picture quality. I hope it comes sooner rather than later. If I don't see improvements over the next 6 months to a year, I will consider dropping my HD programming with E* and invest in BR or HDDVD

Why are FSOHD,STOHD,&FSCHD on 129?

Everything else in HD, in the Toledo area is on 61.5 or 110. What good does it do to put these RSN's on 129? I can't get them without adding another dish! Will they be mirrored soon?

Umm, no way in Hell am I going to buy a HD DVD player or Blu ray, and risk have an $800 box with lights a year down the road. I will stick with the HD PPV and if and when the war settles and when the prices drop on the players, then I might buy one and rent or buy some actual Disks. PPV for now is good, sure beats the restrictive xbox downloading crap. Very few movies I care to watch after I have seen it once. Now my wife can watch the same movie 20 times, and she and the kids are the reason we have 100 DVD's now. As long as I can archive it, she can still watch it 20 times, and it was only $5 instead or $30
