Hello all! haven't been on for a few weeks due to a very busy holiday season!hope all is well. The day after Christmas we had a pretty large northeaster snowstorm and i had no problems watching RTV on AMC3 during the brunt of the storm! No signal loss to speak of.Now i can answer a question others at work have asked me!Do you loose reception when it snows! answer is NO.It wasnt a wet snow so most of it kept being blown off the dish by the wind.Dont really know yet if a good amount of snow and ice does stick to the dish will i get some signal loss.

Haven't had that problem too much yet where I live, but I suppose if it was a wet snow and it managed to accumulate in the right spots it would mess with the reception on ku. Since they're offset dishes the angle really isn't high enough to catch much snow here, when it does snow, lol. Some say spray the dish with PAM, the cooking spray but that might be nasty, the better idea might be to use some car-wax on your dish.

Stanleyjohn we get lots of snow up here in Canada, this winter has been particularly bad. Yes when it's snowing you don't lose much in reception but after a heavy snowfall, ie overnight, I find the snow collects on the bottom of my 12 Ft Mesh Dish and seems to weigh the dish down which does interfere with reception. I take a long handled driveway sweeping brush and sweep the snow off the bottom of the dish, and it helps a lot to improve reception as well as make it easier for the Dish's Actuator to work.

We get a fair amount of snow here (6+ ft. drifts in my lane), and never have any trouble with C band, and very little pixelation on my 4' ku dishes even in the worst of weather. My smaller Ku dishes suffer in heavy rain and white out snow.
