Satellite TV Service in South America

Hi

I am a newbie here and have one question. I am moving to Ecuador in the next year and am looking for good information on what satellite tv service is available there.

I keep getting told that DirecTV is available but when I query them directly, they say they only provide service to the US.

What are the facts here? What are my options if they do not?
