Satellite Ready Radio Question

I have never owned or used a satellite radio. The radio on my 2006 Scion Xb says it is "Satellite Ready". What does that mean? Can I just call someone to have it activated, or do I have to buy something.

You must add a satellite receiver module. As the disclaimer on the website says, "See your Scion dealer for further details."

Because Scion offers both, they don't pre-install a module.

I'm guessing that they offer the Pioneer head end compatible modules from Sirius and XM for a bloated price.
