I am in the process of upgrading from SD to HD. Right now I have a Dish 500 I believe. My question is, will the new HD dish require a bigger portion of unobstructed southern sky? I have a tree that might be a problem with my current dish in 5 years or so, and I didn't know if a HD dish would require a wider view or not.

The answer is yes, about 10 degrees worth for the western arc. The spread is 110, 119, and 129 for the western arc (SW sky) and 61.5, 72.7, and 77 for the eastern arc (SE sky).

New Local HD channels Coming Soon.
