If you're setting up your receiver in USALS mode, you don't have to save anything. The motor should now automatically go to other satellites. Tighten the bolts down (gently, so you don't strip them) and try it.

I haven't used a MicroHD, but I'm assuming that a quality reading of 63-67 is a little on the low side. BUT, 83W isn't a particularly strong satellite anyway. Go to some close satellite first. 87W has full-time strong channels. 72W also. If those work, you can go farther out from center. Chances are, if you're not quite close enough on your aim with 83, things will get weaker the farther you go. There's nothing really useful east of 72 until you get to 30, if you can go that far. West, the last useful satellite is 125.

Congratulations! :D

Your Signal Quality reading is fine for those channels. Expect the strongest transponders to provide Signal Quality readings of approx. 70 - 75%

Was the motor activated in the microHD using USALS mode with your longitude and latitude entered into the USALS Installation Location menu window?

If so, the motor calculation is already saved.

Exit and go to Single Satellite Search menu and Blind Scan the entire satellite ( I would first select Scan Type: FTA so not to scan scrambled and unavailable channels).

Once the satelliote is scanned, set-up for another satellite maybe try 97w KU G19, activate USALS and the motor will automatically drive to the calculated position. Verify the signal is optimized on a few transponders (11842, 12152, 12177) then scan in channels.

Repeat for additional channels.

OK I had already added a bunch of satellites. Should I delete all but one? I tried to scan on 83 but the dish keeps moving all the way west. Why does it keep moving?

Ramy,

I keep asking the same questions and you have yet to answer....

1. Is the satellite Motor Type selected to USALS for 83W?

2. When USALS is highlighted, Press List/OK button to display the Installation Location. HAve you entered your Longitide (West) and Latitude (North) into this screen?

Sorry. Yes I did that.

Go to Motor / Switch Settings screen and select 83w.

Does the dish move and point almost due South or does it travel to the East or West Limit?

Your screen should look like this:

Install Location Window (with your Longitude West and Latitude North setting)

It looks like that. It moves to the west limit when I scan.

How do I update the receiver?

Are you able to get satellites other than 83 now that you fixed the coordinates? Since you're at 83 longitude yourself, I'm hoping that you DIDN'T do what you normally should have done -- have the motor go to 83 -- before you started trying to point the dish. Otherwise, your motor will still be going to the wrong location for everything, and you'll have to go align the dish again. (Since you ARE at 83 longitude, leaving the motor at its 0 position should have got you close enough.)

I went to 97 after that and it found it fine.
