I placed my order for two units, paid the $18 on cc, but was shipped only one. Just called & spoke with Denise who was very helpful.
They're shipping another to finish my order.:)
So I suppose the count is now down to 2 units Brian.

Edit: Thanks for the phone call Brian. Very nice of you. :)

After I ordered I saw that I could of gotten a third unit for only $2 more in shipping charges. I then received an email stating that my two units had already been shipped. I love the fast shipping, but I didn't get a chance to call and change my order to 3 units. :)
Same thing happened to me last year.
I called back to add on to an order (some tiny part that could have been thrown into the box), and they'd already shipped.
Damn these vendors! -
What are they thinking?

PS:
This old thread may or may not be relevant to those getting these particular Starboxes.

Sorry for any misunderstanding. We refunded the $3 shipping overcharge for the first order, so shipping a 2nd StarBox at no charge.

Thanks for your understanding in the confusion with the initial order.

Your sweet deal just became a steal!

1 unit remaining....

Brian, this confusion was a trifle. ;)

Just got done clearing up order mistakes for $2400 in 4x4 parts that took 3 months to clear up!

My friend ivanyakinoff(new Satguys member) I'll try to steer your way for his Ku dish.

Now, this means I will have to upgrade a computer! Christmas is coming, maybe my kids might take a hint. Even the PCjr they got me for my birthday won't handle these.... as there is no USB port on it or the Commodore 64.
Re: this old thread AND post. I just bought a NEW computer. It has USB ports - USB2 and USB3 --- but there are a total of 4 ports. AND YES!!!!! It has a 12 VDC power cord!

As long as this old thread has been revived, I have to ask if anybody got one of these Twinhan Starbox to work?
I didn't. Maybe I should ask for a refund of the full purchase price, $0

I got three... Sometime this week I will try to set one up. I will have to learn this operating system. A whole lot different from DOS 3.2. (OK, I have been using XP) This mouse pad is NOT how I like....
Someone said they had software for the boxes. I will try to find it.

I did get it to work on my previous computer that was replaced with a new one for Christmas. I downloaded the software that was in one of the threads here and tested on the old Hotel mux and watched an episode of IRT with it just fine. I haven't gotten around to setting it up again.

I had one of these units back in 2005. At the time, I purchased it as a stop-gap satellite recording solution during the aftermath of Katrina. I was able to get it working with Windows XP, however the unit had serious issues with overheating. After being on for 20 minutes or so, the stream would become corrupted. If unplugged and allowed to cool for about the same amount of time, the recording would again be fine until it got hot.

Mine is still around here somewhere in pieces. At one time, I planned to re-mount the PCB in a larger box and attach a fan. I never got around to it, DVB-S2 came out, and I lost interest.

Mine never got warm at all unless it's not the same model and it was running on a PC with Win XP-SP3 with AGP 8X 64mb video.

I was going to try it on some of the Ubuntu programs to see if it would run. I have a few older computers kicking around and still learning with the Linux system. I thought it could be used for a frankenDVR of some sort for FTA.
